Techniquement, le glucose poss\u00e8de une \u00e9nergie potentielle chimique en raison de l'arrangement sp\u00e9cifique de ses atomes. Au cours de la respiration cellulaire, ces liaisons sont rompues et les atomes sont oxyd\u00e9s en compos\u00e9s de moindre \u00e9nergie (dioxyde de carbone et eau).
